Located in the heart of a vast protected areas, St-Lary is the starting point for many walks and mountain hikes. A step on the GR10, the village is also one of the gateways to the Pyrenees National Park and the Néouvielle Nature Reserve. A guide published by the FFRP (French Hiking Federation) identifies the main routes around Saint-Lary. From the Tourist Office path maps are offered for the mountain trails and many coaches and guides offer daily themed outings for all levels of ability.Discover our hiking trail leaflets! Trail and Ultra trail in truly lavish surroundings! Share your passion with other riders. Since the explosion in interest in this sport, trailers have been flocking to the Aure Valley to prepare for the big sporting events of the annual calendar! It's no surprise that the valley is venue for the Grand Raid des Pyrénées in late August, one of the most prestigious competitions in Trail and Ultra Trail. It is also here in Saint-Lary and Vignec that the Patou Trail, organized annually in late June with its various competition formats, Skymarathon, the Vertical kilometre, etc. takes place.
Riding on this wave of interest, many accommodation owners have adapted their offer to trail riders... One of the big pluses of Saint-Lary is the wide offer of activities and events in the village that allows accompanying persons to fully enjoy their stay in the Pyrenees. How about a well-being break at the Sensoria Nuxe centre while your other half is trailing through the surrounding mountains !
