The women’s sabre team, under the guidance of their assistant national coach Damien Touya, chose Saint-Lary-Soulan for its exceptional setting and top-quality sports facilities. For a week, these champions worked hard in the Pyrenean mountains, taking advantage of the fresh air and altitude to improve their fitness and technique.

The fencers were warmly welcomed by the local community, who rallied round to make their stay enjoyable. The residents of Saint-Lary-Soulan were able to watch fencing demonstrations, chat with the athletes and cheer them on in their quest for Olympic medals.
