A nice family hike.

Mr. Patou’s educational trail is located on the Saint-Lary resort.

Twelve totem poles line this fun walk 2.5 kilometers long. An invitation to discover, as a family, the fauna, flora and traditions of the Pyrenees.

Pathway accessible to all

Mr. Patou’s trail offers two departures: from Pla d’Adet or Espiaube. To access it from the village of Saint-Lary Soulan, you can take the cable car, the gondola (in winter season) or your car (parking in Espiaube and at the entrance to Saint-Lary 1700 near the Bouleaux chairlift).

At each entrance, an information panel details the entire route. Free access and without any difficulty, it is however recommended to be aware of the weather and to equip yourself with suitable shoes, warm clothes and waterproofs. The time of the route is estimated at 45 minutes for a one-way trip.

Twelve totems to familiarize yourself with the Pyrenees

Mr. Patou’s trail is fully open between April and November (depending on weather conditions). It includes twelve totems set up all along the trail. On each of them, a question about the fauna, the flora or the Pyrenean traditions is asked. You just have to turn each interpretation panel to discover the answer. During the winter season and for safety reasons, the trail of Mr. Patou can be divided into two parts. The limits are then materialized by barriers.

Thanks to a 180° panoramic view, this orientation table, installed at the arrival of the Bouleaux chairlift, allows you to familiarize yourself with all the surrounding peaks. Easily accessible thanks to the pedestrian pass, it contributes to the enhancement of the resort’s tourist territory.
