Here are two possible routes to get to this mountain lake.

The first one a little more sporty and the second one adapted to families with children.

First Itinerary

At the Saint-Lary-Soulan exit, turn right onto the D 25 toward Azet. Continue in the direction of Val Louron. At the pass of Azet, take in the bend a small road on the right. Park a little further on the small parking lot. Take the track that goes due south and that will pass under the Bruyères ski lift. Continue this track and pass under the Myrtilles chairlift until a hairpin.

Take a right and reach the arrival of the Myrtilles chairlift. From the arrival at the top of the Myrtilles chairlift in Val Louron, go up to the left towards two ski lifts following the markings n° 12

Very quickly branch off slightly to the right on a secondary trail and reach an unnamed pass by passing under the ski lifts.

The well-trodden trail switches to the other side and begins a 100-meter descent down the Sarrouyes valley to the Tuc d’Ardounes Hut on the right.

The trail, still well-trodden, begins an ascent to the Sarrouyes Lake. The end of the climb is in the middle of meadow following the stream

Second itinerary

From the Val Louron resort

Here is another itinerary to reach this lake with a very small difference in altitude because its departure will take place by chairlift, which will amuse your children and avoid a long and tedious climb.

So head for the Azet pass, but go back down a bit on the other side to the Val-Louron resort where you will park your vehicle.
Go to the Myrtilles chairlift, which is easy to spot since it’s the only one that operates in the summer, pay your ticket and off you go for the adventure.
